Empowering Education
Joanne is a London-based educator with global experience and a passion for reshaping education around the question, "Who is education for?"
Her journey began in Hong Kong, where she recognised the limitations of one-size-fits-all schooling. This curiosity led her to Toronto, where she earned degrees in teaching, Montessori education, and psychology.
In New York, she integrated Montessori principles with traditional education to create inclusive environments that support diverse learning styles. In London, Joanne combined Montessori practices with the EYFS and national curriculum, guiding children and families through key transitions.
As a head teacher, she opened and led a school, integrating Scandinavian approaches into compassionate, transformative leadership while fostering a community of like-minded individuals who support children's agency and autonomy.
After pausing to raise her family, Joanne completed an MA in Educational Leadership at UCL. Today, she leverages her global insights in both local and international contexts, consistently seeking the latest research on emotional well-being and prosocial development.
Now, Joanne works alongside teachers, delivering workshops to children in nursery, primary, secondary, and university settings. She provides whole-school training to support school leaders in implementing positive psychology and shares her expertise through articles, speaking engagements, and podcasts.
Additionally, she mentors teachers and aspiring educators via Zoom, offering support for their emotional learning and providing strategies and tools for their classrooms.
Joanne applies her global insights in both local and international contexts, consistently seeking the latest research on emotional well-being and prosocial development.
